I would have to agree with Savannah on how teens need their cellphones after school to call home. If their plans change and they missed the bus, they need to have a way to call their parents to come pick them up.

I believe schools should deffenately NOT ban cell phones. Don't agree? Think about this, it's a regular day and out of nowhere, a terror attack begins in downtown Ann Arbor. All of the kids at school are scared! The teacher decide to send the kids home as soon as possible. So, kids are repeatedly asking to us the school's phone but all the lines are full. What are you going to do? Use your cell phone! If we don't have our cellphones, it's just another risk on a teens life. There are many other reasons teens would need their cellphones such as after school a stranger is following them or they get hurt on their way to school, or even the school's power goes out and we need to get home. Their aren't enough phones for over 400 teens. Think about it.

I think that the kids in Saline Middle School should be able to have cell phones, because we all need a way to call home or someone to pick you up after school. And if you have to use the school phones ever day they would get upset. They say you should already have your plns done when you get to school. But people should not be able to use them in class, but after or before school. So yes i believe that they should ont ban cell phones for any reasons.

(Sorry its lete I had a brain fart and forgot all about it, please count this as a late assignment.)

I agree with Ashley that phones should be aloud in school but not in the classroom for the same reasons. Cell phones in class are bad fr a learning enviorment. Teachers should definatlly be strickter about making sure students do not have there cell phones with them in class at all.

I also agree that cellphones should be aloud but not in the class room. There has been bad situations that have happened and the schools would not want them to happen again, so that could be why some schools bane cell phones.

I agree with Hannah because cell phones should not be in class. They should be the rules of the school and they should follow them. The teachers should check to make sure they are turned off and not in the class room. That would distract the students and make it a bad learning environment. The teachers should then contact there parents or give a warning so it does not happen again. The schools should let the students to use them after school to get a hold of there parents.

I agree with banning cell phones because there are phones in the school you don’t need your own. If something were to happen your parents or whoever could call the school to get you. If you neeede to call your parents you could do that. I think it is not right to sneak your cell phones into the building if you are not aloud because you should listen to them. They don’t know what you are doing and don’t know if you are paying attention to them. You would not be learning as much. But if you were to bring your cell phone they should stay in your locker and be turned off in class.

I agree with Jamie that cell phones should be allowed in case kids need to call home, or something big occors. An example of this happened to me. Last year my school had the entire 6th grade go to outdoor education in coach buses. On the return trip, one of the buses(MINE!) broke down. And the only cell phones on teh bus were the teachers, because the school had banned cell phones from the trip. The cells ended up dying before all the parents could be reached, and another bus didn't arive until we had been sitting in the stifling heat for almost an hour.

My opinion on cell phones is that it should stay the way the school has written the rules. Cell phones are to be turned off and kept in lockers during classes. The rules themselves are fine, but the students don't always do as they say. I think that an alternative could be that the teachers do checks during classes, and if a student has his/her cell phone that it be confiscated for a day or two and the child in question should phone home to inform the parents.

I agree greatly with all the things Casey S. said. Casey brought up a good fact that cell phones are a responsibility and if you use them during class then they should be taken away. But, there are only a couple of kids stupid enough to bring phones into class. I also agree with Casey that we need cell phones to call our parents if you have any after school activity like basketball to come and pick you up.
